Systems Librarian Position in Interleaf Technology – Qualified Librarian
Inteleaf Technology are seeking to employ a qualified librarian to join its support team.
The Company:
Interleaf Technology are Ireland’s largest supplier of software solutions to the library sector.
In existence since 1998, we support a wide range of IT systems in over 200 libraries. The majority are based in Ireland, but we also have a growing client base outside Ireland, currently covering territories such as the UK, Germany, Austria, South Africa, the US, Saudi Arabia, among others.
Our core offering is support of the Koha Library management system. Other systems include PC Reservation, Rebus:List, Omeka and many more.
The Role:
As a result of our continuing success with Koha, we are seeking to recruit a qualified librarian to join our support team to implement, train and support Koha systems for our clients.
This role is an entry-level graduate position.
The main part of the role will be providing day-to-day support to our Koha clients The role will also include configuring Koha systems to users’ requirements and end-user training. There is also a requirement for involvement in converting existing library systems to Koha. This will require familiarity with the MARC21 standard and with data manipulation tools such as MARCEdit to convert data from one system to another.
The role will provide many opportunities to build a career in a fast moving company and to get involved in a wide range of software applications for libraries in addition to Koha.
The Person:
The successful candidate will have a recent professional qualification in librarianship.
The successful candidate will have a good (and demonstrable) working knowledge of the MARC21 standard.
This is an IT-focused position in a very busy environment. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working on modern I.T. applications and be able to show a degree of self reliance and independence.
A demonstrable knowledge of the Koha Library Management system will be a definite advantage to any candidate, as will a demonstrable knowledge of MARCEdit and data manipulation skills
An ability to present complex ideas clearly to groups of people in a training environment is required.

The Terms:
Appropriate training will be provided.
The successful candidate will be based in our offices in Bray, with the possibility of working from home from time to time as projects allow.
The salary will be commensurate with the role and the successful candidate’s experience. The successful candidate will be eligible to join our staff pension and health insurance schemes.
This is a permanent, full-time, position subject to successful completion of a six-month probation period.
