This has saved the libraries involved a grand total of €4,300 compared to posted notices. And there is also a significant saving in staff time as there are no notices to print, put in envelopes, frank and post. The SMS solution is completely automated.
The pre-overdue notice ("courtesy notice") prompts borrowers to return items in the grace period before they are due an actual notice.
