iPhone App for Horizon coming soon
SirsiDynix plan to release an iPhone app for Horizon users later in 2010
SirsiDynix®, the world leader in library automation technology, announces the most comprehensive Apple iPhone® application for library users is now released for Symphony users and will be available on Horizon later this year.
The free app locates nearby libraries and allows users to search library catalogues for available materials. Users registered with a library can also place and cancel holds at their library using their iPhone.
BookMyne uses the iPhone’s GPS capabilities and the Google Maps API to identify participating libraries nearby. Users can identify the libraries they use frequently, and can search for other participating libraries from a global view.
Of course you can just point your Safari browser on your iPhone to your Web Catalogue and it will work fine, if a little clunky, with a lot of scrolling around.
