National College of Ireland switch to RFID

Over the summer break of 2010 staff at National College of Ireland converted all of their barcoded items to RFID tags, supplied by Interleaf and 3M.

Staff used 3M conversion station software to convert the 50,000 items to RFID.

Recently their new Self Issue kiosk, also from 3M was installed, see right.

The RFID kiosk will speed up the self issue process as the busy students can place several books at a time on the FID pad on the kiosk and all items are checked out simultaneously.

Congratulations to Mary Buckley and her staff at NCI for such a successful conversion project.
