Horizon 7.5.1 is now released, due to be available in Europe soon.
This new release of Horizon includes some local functionality that the SirsiDynix UK office had developed over the years including the Stock Rotation facility. Also included are Circulation enhancements, including the ability to apply fees for checkouts and renewals, or to restrict circulation based on Itype group; In 7.5.1 the library has the ability to charge a fee for the placement and filling of requests.
And, enhancements to requests, including the ability to set a maximum number of requests on a title by a single patron and the ability to inhibit or allow requests against materials on loan to the requester;
The big news is that this release will set the stage for the forthcoming new feature called Web Services which will allow libraries to publish their library catalogue onto a Smartphone using the BookMyne application which will be made available for Horizon with this release.
