As part of a plan to deliver an improved experience for staff and students using the library and information service, St. Vincent’s Healthcare Group has chosen the Koha open source library management system to replace its existing Heritage system. Interleaf Technology has been contracted to implement the Koha system and to provide on-going support services.
Koha Library Management System
With the Koha LMS, library staff access to the system is completely web-based: Searching, circulation, cataloguing, serials and reports, acquisitions and EDI are all performed using a web browser.
The online catalogue offers an excellent search capability and a full range of personalisation services. Koha’s depth of functionality continues to evolve and expand to meet the changing needs of its user base.

Niamh Lucey, Head of Library & Information Services said: “ We have been very pleased to work with Interleaf Technology on the conversion of our old library management system to Koha. The transition has been very smooth and our new system is versatile and future-proof. It is very reassuring to have our LMS remotely hosted and supported by the Interleaf team”
Charles Quain, Director at Interleaf Technology added: “We are delighted to be working with St Vincent’s Healthcare Group. Open Source Technologies and hosted solutions allow institutions with limited resources access to state-of-the art technology while achieving value for money. Our scaled support options means that libraries are not paying for levels of support that they don’t need.”
