Overdrive seminar in Dublin City Libraries
Organised by Waterford City Library and sponsored by Interleaf Technology, Claudia Weissman, International Business Director of Overdrive presented a seminar about the rapidly moving landscape in eBooks and Audio Books in Pearse Street Library, Dublin on the 8th June..
It was a well attended session with nearly 30 in the audience from a wide range of public libraries, North and South.
Claudia gave an overview of the development of the market in the past number of years showing how downloadable resources are becoming a major part of the library scene.
Looking to the future, Claudia spoke about some of the planned developments Overdrive are making and talked about the general future of this sector.
As this was an opportunity for the main stakeholders in the public sector libraries to interact with an expert in the area, a lively discussion followed focusing on the opportunities and challenges in the Irish Market.
